WHAT ABOUT THE BRIGHTSPACE TEACHING AND LEARNING CERTIFICATE PROGRAM? IS IT A GOOD FIT FOR ME?
If you want to get the most out of Brightspace instructor tools, this program is for you! Instructors, course facilitators, teachers, administrators, Instructional Designers, and Courseware Developers who want to know how to maximize the potential of Brightspace courses will find value in the program. WHAT ABOUT THE BRIGHTSPACE CERTIFIED ADMINISTRATOR PROGRAM? IS IT A GOOD FIT FOR ME?
If you are hands-on (or want to be) with Brightspace Administrator tools this program is for you! This program does require the submission of 5 assignments that are graded by a facilitator, so it is suited to those who will find value in hands-on learning. Still not sure? DO I NEED TO BE A D2L CLIENT TO TAKE THE CERTIFICATE PROGRAM OR THE CERTIFIED ADMINISTRATOR PROGRAM?
Not at all! If you are a partner, someone with general interest in educational software, or someone who is preparing to use D2L in your job, these offerings will give you deep product knowledge so you can be successful in those endeavors.
WHAT DOES FACILITATION LOOK LIKE IN THE BRIGHTPSACE CERTIFICATE PROGRAM COURSES?
The facilitator will answer questions via discussion forums (they may respond in a variety of ways: video, written posts, or links to content). The facilitator will provide support with troubleshooting and questions about the Brightspace tools. You are not required to be online at a specific time for the facilitator.
WHAT DOES FACILITATION LOOK LIKE IN THE BRIGHTPSACE CERTIFIIED ADMINISTRATOR PROGRAM?
The facilitator will answer questions via discussion forums, grade assignments, and support learning. The facilitator will provide support with troubleshooting and questions about the Brightspace demo site (used for activity completion). You are not required to be online at a specific time for the facilitator.
DO I NEED ACCESS TO THE BRIGHTSPACE PRODUCTS TO TAKE THESE COURSES?
Access to a test course or “sandbox” is strongly recommended to get the most out of your training. How you get access is based on the type of training you are participating in: Private training takes place in the customer's environment, generally a sandbox course will be created for you there. Certificate training includes access to a sandbox course. Guided Training does not require a sandbox course. The Brightspace Certified Administrator Program includes access to a demo site.
WHAT EQUIPMENT / HARDWARE IS REQUIRED TO TAKE THESE WORKSHOPS?
For all courses, to participate in the Brightspace, you will need a desktop or laptop computer with a modern browser (such as Chrome or Firefox) and a reliable high-speed internet connection. To see if your browser meets the minimum requirements, you can run a system check by visiting the Learning Center System Check tool with the computer and browser you intend to use. Virtual Training will also need audio equipment so that you can communicate with the Trainer. Either a phone (preferably a headset or hands-free phone so you don’t have to hold it to your ear for hours), or speakers and a microphone are all you need. Onsite Private Training requires facilities suitable for learning a web platform: a room or computer lab with computers for participants, a projector and screen, and a reliable high-speed internet connection for everyone.
WHAT LANGUAGES ARE THE TRAINING WORKSHOPS OFFERED IN?
Certificate Training is offered currently in English only. Private Training is offered in English, French, Spanish, and Portuguese. Guided training is offered in English and Dutch, with plans to include other languages in the future.

HOW DO I PURCHASE AND REGISTER FOR A SEAT FOR MYSELF?
Visit learnstore.brightspace.com to browse and select the right course for you. After you add it to your Shopping Cart, click Checkout to initiate the checkout process. Payment can currently be made by credit card or PayPal.
HOW DO I PURCHASE SEATS FOR MY TEAM?
Please reach out to your Client Sales Representative or Customer Success Representative to help coordinate this for you.
CAN I ARRANGE PRIVATE TRAINING FOR MY COMPANY?
Of course. Our private training offerings are listed in our Training Catalog and can be purchased alongside our Certificate Training offerings. If you prefer, you can also arrange private training through your D2L Client Sales Representative, or by visiting d2l.com/contact, to book any of our standard Private offerings or a customized solution.
WHAT ARE MY PAYMENT OPTIONS?
Credit card, PayPal, or a sales order or purchase order arranged through your Client Sales Representative.
HOW DO I CANCEL MY PURCHASE? CAN I GET A REFUND?
Purchases can be canceled by an email request that provides us with your name, the name of the course, and the start date for the course you’ve registered for, up to five business days before the course begins. I LOST OR NEVER RECEIVED MY REGISTRATION EMAIL. WHAT SHOULD I DO?
Check your junk mail folder. Sometimes the emails are removed by personal or organizational spam filters. If you still can’t find it, please email us at training@d2l.com and we’ll be happy help.
WHAT TECHNOLOGY IS USED FOR THESE PROGRAMS?
The certificate and certification programs courses are offered through the Brightspace Community’s instance of the Learning Environment, referred to as D2L Academy. You will receive as part of your registration a membership account in the Brightspace Community if it doesn’t already exist. When logging out of your course, you will be directed to the Brightspace Community.

A link was also provided in the registration email you received, or login to https://community.d2l.com/brightspace/ and click on D2L Academy in the navbar.
I REGISTERED FOR A COURSE, BUT CAN NO LONGER ATTEND. CAN SOMEONE ELSE PARTICIPATE INSTEAD?

WHERE CAN I FIND A COPY OF MY CERTIFICATE?
Certificate Training provides certificates within the courses themselves, once you’ve successfully completed them, of course. Make sure to download your certificate before the course closes! If you missed that close date, however, please contact us at training@d2l.com for assistance.
HOW LONG IS THE CERTIFICATE VALID FOR?
Certificates in the Certificate Training courses show that you have participated in a course for a specific version of Brightspace. As such, there’s no re-certification nor renewal. The Brightspace Certified Administrator Program is dated, but does not have an expiry listed.
