Training for the Brightspace Student Success System (S3)
This session provides basic coverage of the configuration and maintenance strategies for the Student Success System (S3) as well as the essential foundation required for instructors who will be using S3 in their courses. For Administrators, we will explore how to add and manage historical and target courses; for Instructors, we will examine how we access S3,monitor the Student Success Dashboard, and explore specific student data.
LEARNING OUTCOMES
At the end of this workshop each participant will have reviewed the process of setting up the Student Success System for an organization, configured a model for a course, and inspected an example of student data generated by an S3 model. Specifically, participants will be able to:
- Identify relevant roles and permissions for S3
- Select a specific target course for S3 inclusion
- Configure modeling and historical data for target courses
- Access the Student Success System from a course
- Understand how the Student Dashboard is organized
- Recognize individual student predictive indicators

AUDIENCE
This informative session is geared towards site administrators, technical support staff, instructors, and other individuals from your institution who will be involved with the configuration, management, and course development within the Brightspace Learning Environment. While historic data from previous courses is useful, it is not required to participate in this session; organizations new to Brightspace will benefit from this session.
