Learning Environment Administrator Tools Overview
This training engagement provides essential coverage of the configuration and maintenance strategies required to get started using Brightspace Learning Environment (LE).
LEARNING OUTCOMES
During this workshop, each participant will understand how to configure their Learning Environment to meet identified organization needs. At the end of the training, participants will be able to:

- Configure and maintain system settings and organizational structure

- Manage roles and permissions for Learning Environment

AUDIENCE
This training is designed for site administrators, helpdesk staff, support staff, and other individuals from your organization who will be involved with the configuration and management of D2L’s Brightspace Learning Environment
DELIVERY METHOD
Live Virtual Classroom or Live in Person (two full day minimum required)
LOCATION AND TRAVEL EXPENSES
Private training sessions can be conducted via a Live Virtual Classroom, in person at D2L headquarters or at your location. Travel expenses for in person sessions are not included in the course cost. For a session to be delivered onsite the booking must be for at least two consecutive days.

Our lead time is typically 3 to 4 weeks from the date of request but can be higher during peak times which are typically June, July and August.
While we will make every effort to accommodate your preferred dates, scheduling of sessions will be dependent on the availability of a suitable delivery resource.
Administrator Tools Training for Brightspace Learning Environment
Session 1: Configuration & Course Creation (2 hours)
We will begin by learning how to navigate the Learning Environment as well as become familiar with key terminology. Additionally, we will discuss how the Learning Environment is set up and how the set up may impact decisions you make about the configuration and management. We will then learn how to create course both manually and in bulk, as well as bring existing content into courses for instructors.

Session 2: All About Users & Personalization (2 hours)
In this session we will look at how to create user accounts and manage enrollment, both manually and in bulk. We will also focus on how to modify roles and permissions for a variety of different personas at your institution and where to enable desired features of the LE. Finally, now that we have set up your organizational structure, some courses, and some users – it’s time for personalization! You will learn how to customize various navigation elements, such as homepages and links, in order to best align to your institution’s needs and preferences.
