Brightspace ePortfolio Instructor Tools Training
This training engagement will provide essential knowledge required for instructors, facilitators and course designers to get started with course development and delivery using Brightspace ePortfolio (eP).
LEARNING OUTCOMES
During this session, each participant will understand how to create, edit and manage a variety of ePortfolio functions for specific purposes. At the end of the training, participants will be able to:
- Collect and organize various learning resources into an ePortfolio as artifacts
- Create collections and presentations for a variety of purposes
- Set up collaboration groups and share items in their portfolio
- Comment on and assess items shared by other users
- Use the ePortfolio as an instructor or facilitator
- Apply knowledge of Brightspace ePortfolio features used to support building courses and presentations with inclusivE design principles
DURATION AND TIMING
4 hours ( 2 x 2 hour sessions)

Up to twelve per trainer.
AUDIENCE
This informative session is geared towards users who will be using Brightspace ePortfolio to develop courses and to deliver online sessions. Administrative, Helpdesk, and technical support staff are encouraged to attend to gain a better understanding of how different users will be utilizing the system.

PART 1 (2 hours)
INTRODUCTION TO BRIGHTSPACE eP
We will begin by learning how to navigate eP while we become familiar with key terminology. Participants are introduced to Brightspace resources to assist in ongoing learning and development.

ePORTFOLIO DEVELOPMENT
All users can have the ability to curate their own collection of artifacts in ePortfolio. We will learn how to add and manage these artifacts, put them together in collections and presentations, and share them.
Areas of Focus
- Working in ePortfolio to build Artifacts, Tags, Collections, Reflections, and Presentations
- Exploring concepts such as sharing, commenting and importing/exporting
- Discussing Rubrics as an informal assessment
- Exploring ePortfolio mobile application
PART 2 (2 hours)
INSTRUCTOR TASKS
ePortfolio is a user-based tool and works similarly for every role, but as an instructor there is additional functionality along with other tools that can be leveraged to create efficiencies and support in the development and facilitation of a course.
